James D. Styer, 80, Passes Away; Services Set for January 12

BREAKING NEWS: James D. Styer, aged 80, of Exeter Township, has passed away on January 4, 2026. His death marks a significant loss for family and friends, as he was a cherished member of the community and a dedicated family man.

Styer, the husband of the late Cynthia G. Styer, was born in Reading, PA, and was the son of the late John L. and Fern M. Styer. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1963 and later attended Penn State University. Styer proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Known for his extensive career in the electrical sales industry, Styer worked for many years at Progress Electric Supply before retiring from Colonial Electric Supply. His professional contributions left a lasting impact on his colleagues and clients alike.

Styer is survived by his children: Andrew J. Styer, fiancé of Kimberly Moyer, of Oley, and Paula Styer, spouse of Kelly Eghujovbo, of Detroit. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Evan Styer, Luke Styer, Nathan Styer, Aiden Tobias, and Henry Moyer-Daniels. He is also remembered by his siblings, including brothers John Styer and Joel Styer, as well as brothers-in-law Paul “Kenny” Kline and Leonard Readinger.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on January 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., located at 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. The memorial service will commence at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
