Riot Games Unleashes Riftbound: Spiritforged Details Ahead of Launch

BREAKING: Riot Games has just announced exciting new details for its highly anticipated expansion, Riftbound: Spiritforged, set to launch in English on February 13, 2026. Enthusiastic players will get their first taste of the expansion in China starting December 12, 2025.

This latest update reveals a slew of new Champion Legends, including fan favorites like Rek’Sai, Draven, and Irelia, along with fresh gameplay mechanics that are sure to elevate the gaming experience. Players can expect to encounter 12 Champion Legends and three groundbreaking mechanics: Equipment, Gold, and Repeat.

Equipment cards will now attach to units, persisting even after the unit is defeated, while Gold tokens will enable flexible power generation tied to champions like Draven and Renata. The Repeat mechanic allows players to amplify spell effects by paying the cost a second time, promising thrilling new strategies.

Riot Games creatively blends the steelwork themes of Spiritforged with the mystical essence of Ionia’s Spirit Blossom universe, influencing both card design and champion identities. Collectors will be excited to discover Spirit Blossom-themed alternate art, alongside 30 Overnumbered cards and 12 Champion Units added to the Overnumbered series.

At PAX Unplugged, Riot further revealed plans for the next three Riftbound sets to be launched in 2026: Unleashed in May, followed by Vendettas in Q3, and Radiance later in the year. Unleashed will introduce new Champion Legends such as Vi, Rengar, and Master Yi, while Vendettas will delve into long-standing rivalries featuring champions like Akali, Mel, and Ambessa.

In addition to the new content, Riot Games is launching a series of Regional Qualifiers for competitive players. The first English qualifier will kick off in Houston from December 5–7, followed by events in Bologna, Italy from February 20–22 and Las Vegas from February 27–March 1. A total of 12 Regional Qualifiers are planned for 2026, with more details to follow.

Game director Dave Guskin emphasized the importance of community feedback in shaping this expansion:

“We learned a tremendous amount from how players engaged with Origins. Spiritforged builds on that foundation with new Champion Legends, new mechanics, and even greater collectability. We can’t wait to see what players create next.”

The gaming community is buzzing with anticipation, and players are urged to stay tuned for further updates as the launch dates approach. This is a pivotal moment for fans of Riftbound, as Riot Games aims to redefine the trading card experience with innovation and creativity. Don’t miss out on the action!
