URGENT UPDATE: A special BleachWatch dive is set for Sunday, March 8, organized by Students for Coral Preservation (SCP) in collaboration with Diver’s Paradise Dive Center. The dive will depart at 10 a.m. from Crandon Marina, aiming to engage the community in critical coral preservation efforts.
This initiative comes at a pivotal time as coral reefs face severe threats from rising ocean temperatures and bleaching events. Participants will not only enjoy an underwater adventure but also play a vital role in monitoring coral health and raising awareness of environmental issues impacting our oceans.
The BleachWatch program encourages divers to document and report on coral conditions, providing essential data that contributes to ongoing conservation efforts. Attendees will receive training on how to identify and report bleaching, making this both an educational and impactful experience.
Join the fight for our reefs! SCP emphasizes the importance of community involvement in marine conservation. This event is an opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying the vibrant marine life off the coast of Miami.
Spaces for the dive are limited, so interested divers are encouraged to confirm their participation as soon as possible. Don’t miss out on this chance to contribute to the preservation of our precious coral ecosystems!
Stay tuned for more updates and be part of the urgent movement to protect our oceans. Share this news with fellow ocean lovers and help spread awareness about coral conservation!
