Urgent Lane Closures on Route 422 Start Monday, Nov. 17

URGENT UPDATE: Major lane closures will disrupt traffic on U.S. 422 starting Monday, November 17, through Friday, November 21. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has confirmed significant roadway and bridge reconstruction affecting both westbound and eastbound lanes.

Motorists should prepare for delays as westbound lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges. Eastbound lane closures are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the same stretch.

In addition to these closures, Sanatoga Road will remain closed and detoured between Linfield Road and High Street until December 1, disrupting access due to the demolition of the westbound bridge over U.S. 422. Detours will guide drivers to use High Street, Evergreen Road, and Linfield Road.

This construction is part of a larger $83.6 million project aimed at reconstructing and improving approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replacing bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.

Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time as backups are expected to occur at work sites. All scheduled activities are weather dependent, and updates may follow as conditions change. Stay tuned for further announcements from PennDOT as this situation develops.

For your safety, plan accordingly and share this information with fellow travelers to help mitigate congestion in the area.
