Urgent Traffic Advisory for TSO Shows at Mohegan Arena Saturday

URGENT UPDATE: A traffic advisory has just been issued for Saturday, November 22, as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra prepares to perform two shows at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre Township. The first performance kicks off at 2:30 PM, followed by a second show at 7:30 PM. Expect significant traffic congestion in the area, particularly from 1 PM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM.

Authorities report heavy traffic around Highland Park Boulevard, I-81 Exit 168, Route 309, Mundy Street, and the Wyoming Valley Mall area. Drivers are advised to use the free GPS navigation app Waze for real-time traffic updates and alternate routes to navigate around the congestion.

For those attending the 2:30 PM performance, the arena parking lot will open at approximately 12:30 PM, with event doors opening at around 1:30 PM. Guests arriving for the 7:30 PM show should not attempt to enter before 6 PM, as parking will remain closed until the first show’s attendees exit.

To minimize delays, all traffic for adjacent businesses, including the Wyoming Valley Mall and Wilkes-Barre Township Commons, is encouraged to use I-81 Exit 170B during peak congestion times. Six entry lanes will be available for arena parking: four from Highland Park Boulevard and two from Mundy Street. Notably, there will be no on-site parking fees for this event.

Parking guidelines indicate that after the 2:30 PM show, vehicles exiting via Highland Park Boulevard will be directed either into the mall parking lot or required to turn left onto Mundy Street. The right-turn lane to Mundy Street will be closed until traffic clears.

VIP passholders should use the left-hand lane upon entering from Highland Park Boulevard and ensure their passes are visible. Rideshare passengers must enter through the Highland Park Boulevard entrance and follow staff instructions. Accessible parking for ADA needs is available, but it is expected to fill early, so early arrival is recommended.

Security measures will be in place at the venue. All attendees will undergo screening via walk-through metal detectors. Guests unable to pass through due to medical reasons may request a manual pat-down. To expedite entry, attendees are encouraged to limit items brought into the venue; only clear bags up to 12′′ x 6′′ x 12′′, one-gallon clear freezer bags, and small clutches are permitted.

As concertgoers prepare for an exciting evening with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, officials urge everyone to plan ahead and allow extra travel time to avoid delays. Stay tuned for further updates and safe travels!
