UPDATE: New photos have emerged of a man identified as a “person of interest” in a horrific shooting at a Tucson Goodwill donation center that left two employees in critical condition. The shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the center located in the 7600 block of East Valencia Road, near South Los Reales Road.
Authorities from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are urgently seeking information about the suspect, who is described as approximately six feet tall and weighing around 200 pounds. Investigators have also released images of a stolen white 2012 Volvo XC 90 with Arizona license plate number C4A8Z4. Residents are advised not to approach the man or the vehicle.
Both victims of the shooting were transported to a local hospital and remain in critical condition. While their identities have not been officially disclosed by the authorities, a GoFundMe campaign has identified one of the injured as Juan Cristobal Flores, a University of Arizona student and part-time worker at the Goodwill center. The campaign emphasizes the urgency of support for Flores, stating, “Juan Cristobal has spent his life lifting others through music. Now, he needs our voices, our prayers, and our help.”
The Catalina United Methodist Church, where Flores is a cherished member, expressed their shock and sorrow through a heartfelt statement. They described him as “kind, gentle, caring, and profoundly gifted,” highlighting his significant contributions to the church’s choir and the community.
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect to come forward immediately. The release of these images marks a critical step in the ongoing effort to bring justice to this tragic incident.
