UPDATE: The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office has reported a surge in incidents and arrests during the week from November 24 to November 30, 2025, highlighting a troubling trend in disturbances and crime across the area. With numerous calls for suspicious activity, traffic accidents, and multiple arrests on serious charges, residents are urged to remain vigilant.

Throughout the week, authorities received numerous reports of suspicious persons and vehicles across various locations, including the 24000 block of Sweet Springs Road and the 19000 block of Elkton Road. The situation escalated with multiple traffic accidents, including significant incidents reported at East Limestone Road/Capshaw Road.

On November 25, multiple thefts were reported, including a vehicle theft valued at $13,000 on 14000 block Lucas Ferry Road. The community is urged to report any suspicious activities as law enforcement steps up patrols.

Authorities are also addressing a series of alarming disturbances, with incidents noted at locations such as 1000 block US Hwy 72 and the 18000 block of Goldenrod Lane. Officers responded to discharging firearms on 17000 block Sledge Road, further raising concerns about safety in the community.

The week saw a total of over 30 arrests, with charges ranging from drug possession to domestic violence. Notable arrests include:

John Posey, also from Athens, facing charges for possession of a pistol by a violent felon.

Carly Deanne Harris and Anthony Garcia, both charged with driving under the influence.
Miguel Antonio Martinez for third-degree domestic violence.
