William J. Clark, Renowned Builder and Community Pillar, Passes Away at 78

BREAKING: William J. Clark, a beloved figure in the construction industry and community leader, has passed away at the age of 78. He died peacefully on November 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and dedication to his family and community.

Born on January 18, 1947, in Lowell, MA, Clark’s life was marked by a commitment to excellence and service. He married his lifelong partner, Deborah J. Meisner, on October 4, 1969. Their 56-year marriage was a testament to their deep love and friendship, which endured until the end.

Clark’s professional journey began in 1969 when he co-founded Clark Bros. Masonry with his brother, establishing one of New England’s premier masonry companies. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found multiple successful ventures, including the Merganser Corporation and Turnstone Corporation, which he started with his daughter, Stacy J. Clark.

His contributions to the construction industry were recognized when he became the first recipient of the New Hampshire Construction Industry Ethics Award in 1997. Beyond his professional achievements, Clark was dedicated to improving his community through various roles, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors, NH, and the Nashua Boys Club.

Authorities report that Clark’s commitment to community service extended to his involvement with the Milford Rotary Club, where he actively participated in local events until his declining health. Known for his warmth and willingness to help others, Clark was a guiding presence in both his family and the construction industry.

His passion for life was evident in his love for sports—especially golf and curling—as well as outdoor activities like water skiing and ice fishing. Clark’s family gatherings, particularly during the holidays, were filled with joy, often hosting up to 50 friends and family.

Clark is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah, and their three daughters, Mimi Rainford, Stacy J. Clark, and Stephanie J. Clark. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Visitation will take place on December 11, 2025, from 1 PM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM at Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith, NH. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for the following day, December 12, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Charles Church in Meredith. A private ceremony will occur later at the NH Veterans Cemetery to honor his service in the Vietnam War.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Milford Rotary Club & Foundation or Share Outreach, both located in Milford, NH.
