Dermody, a private equity investment management firm focused on logistics real estate, has completed the Moya Boulevard extension in Reno, Nevada. This new roadway aims to improve safety and accessibility for both residents and businesses in the North Valleys. The extension connects Lear Boulevard to Military Road, unlocking over 900 acres for logistics and advanced manufacturing at the nearby Reno AirLogistics Park.
Investment to Boost Local Economy
Fully funded by Dermody, the Moya Boulevard extension exemplifies a significant private investment in public infrastructure. The project enhances local livability without relying on taxpayer dollars. “Dermody has deep roots in northern Nevada and a long history of investing in our communities,” said John Ramous, Nevada Region Partner at Dermody. “This project shows what’s possible when public and private partners work together to build infrastructure that benefits everyone.”
The updated road features improved drainage and dedicated turn lanes, accommodating both commuter and commercial traffic. By expanding Moya Boulevard, Dermody aims to facilitate responsible and sustainable growth in the North Valleys.
The extension also represents a key development for the Reno AirLogistics Park, which is designed as a model live-work community. It offers state-of-the-art logistics and advanced manufacturing facilities while ensuring access to a skilled workforce. With over 9,000 families residing in the North Valleys, this investment highlights how direct private funding can enhance quality of life through thoughtful urban planning.
Future Prospects for Local Employment
“From the beginning, our focus has been on creating opportunity and removing barriers to good jobs close to where people live,” Ramous remarked. The North Valleys has long been recognized as a hub for innovation and logistics, and this project aims to ensure that the community and economy can grow in tandem.
Once fully operational, Reno AirLogistics Park is expected to provide flexible facilities for various industries, including distribution, e-commerce, aeronautics, and research and development. Located adjacent to the Reno-Stead Airport, the park benefits from its proximity to over 70,000 households in the greater Reno-Sparks area and a skilled labor force of about 100,000 within a ten-mile radius. This strategic location offers companies a unique combination of available talent and minimal commute times.
Dermody has built a reputation for its commitment to developing logistics real estate in strategic locations since its founding in 1960. The company has developed more than $10 billion in total capital across various platforms nationwide, having acquired and developed approximately 110 million square feet of logistics and industrial facilities. Its corporate office is located in Reno, with regional offices across key U.S. cities.
