Slidell Police Launch Manhunt for Three Armed Suspects After Teen Shot
Slidell, Louisiana—Police are in active pursuit of three suspects considered armed and dangerous following a shooting that left a 17-year-old with a graze wound to the head near a McDonald’s parking lot at Voters Road and Old Spanish Trail. The incident unfolded Friday around 4 p.m. after multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in the area.
Authorities responded swiftly and transported the injured teenager to a nearby hospital. Thankfully, the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and the teen was released soon after treatment. Investigators traced the shooting to a botched drug deal taking place at the drive-through of the McDonald’s.
According to Slidell Police, 32-year-old Nathan Johnson was allegedly attempting to sell drugs to a group of five individuals when tensions escalated into gunfire. Police have identified six suspects in total related to the case.
Suspects in Custody and Charges
Three suspects have already been arrested: Nathan Johnson, Kerry Major (19), and Rashad Riddick (19). All face charges of attempted first-degree murder. Police continue their search for the remaining three suspects—Justin Barthelemy (20), Eric Watson Jr. (17), and Syncere Givens (19)—who are also wanted on attempted first-degree murder and weapons-related charges.
Authorities emphasize that the three fugitives are known to be from Slidell but warn they could be hiding in the New Orleans or Baton Rouge areas. Police are urging the public to stay vigilant and report any information immediately.
Police Warn Public Not to Aid Suspects
“If anybody is found aiding and abetting, be rest assured you will be arrested as well to all these things,” Slidell Interim Police Chief Daniel Seuzeneau warned.
Chief Seuzeneau described the incident as a case of “teenagers acting like wanna be gangsters” involved in illegal activity, making clear such violent behavior will not be tolerated in the community.
